🔋 Volkswagen to Establish First Overseas Gigafactory for Cell Manufacturing in Canada

The German car manufacturing giant has set its sights on North America to establish a dominant position in the rapidly growing market for battery-powered vehicles. In a move to further their ambitions, the Group and its battery company PowerCo have chosen St. Thomas in Ontario, Canada as the site of Volkswagen’s first overseas gigafactory for cell manufacturing. The facility is expected to start production in 2027, producing sustainable unified cells.
