🛴 Paris e-scooter ban challenges European micro-mobility sector

Paris has caused a stir by banning e-scooters, known as trottinettes in France. The decision comes after a contentious referendum and has left companies operating these services in Europe worried. The decision was announced by Paris Mayor, Anne Hidalgo, who revealed that licenses for the current e-scooter service providers will not be renewed on September 1. The public consultation, in which only 8% of those called to vote participated, was the deciding factor in the ban.
